i have this way of pushing guys i like the most..the furthest away.

i want so desperately to be swept off my feet.....yet i'm so scared to get close to him.

I'll tell you one thing I've learned...if a guy REALLY, TRULY has an interest in you, nothing will stop him from pursuing you...nothing.

And all my guy friends tell me that, and these are guys in my age range, not wet-behind-the-ears punk kids. Guys that want something meaningful with you will stick around. Guys that are only looking for one thing, won't...they'll either get tired of waiting for it and decide to look elsewhere, or they'll move on once they get it.

Brini, you are a lot like me. I crave romance and intimacy and having something real and lasting with someone special. But, as much as I complain about not having a b/f, I know in my heart that it's just not in the cards for me right now. I'm meant to finish school and get a good career going. I don't have any real time to invest in a man or a relationship. Try to look at your situation in a similar way. You're getting your life back on track and in order...you're in school again and looking toward a great career. Does a boy really fit into the equation right now? If you had a b/f, where would most of your energy be focused...on your education and future career, or on your relationship? You're a true romantic, and very giving and unselfish in a relationship. You know you'd be distracted w/ a boy. I'm the same way!

I'm not saying there's anything wrong w/ you wishing for someone. It's a very basic human need. But try to remember you have a lot going for you right now, and once you get in the swing of things w/ school, and the beginnings of a career, things will probably fall into place on their own in the "love dept." You're still young! Don't forget that, either! I envy you, because time is still on your side. You will have your happy ending, I promise. Just hold on to your other dreams and don't lose sight of them. They're more important right now. And romantic love will be waiting for you just around the corner. I am certain of it!
