Baby Stuff and Other Stuff

Today I had my monthy doctor's visit (24 weeks tomorrow!!) to check on the baby. He's doing really well-he's got a strong heartbeat, he's just the size he should be at this point, and he's starting to kick up a storm a few times a day. After my next doctor's visit in 4 weeks, I'll start going in every 3 weeks. After a couple of those trips it'll go down to every other week, and then finally once a week at the very end until I give birth. I can't believe I'm getting so close already!

My end of the pregnancy deal is going pretty well, too. I've got some occasional heartburn and more-than-occasional aches and pains in my abdominal/pelvic area, but I hear that's pretty on-the-money for this point in my pregnancy. And other than those things, I'm quite happy and comfortable. Mom drove up for a quick visit the other day and brought me a 1970's, lime green, crushed velvet rocking chair for the baby's room-it's pretty ugly but also really comfy. Slowly but surely, Sean and I are changing the office/guest room into a bona-fide nursery. I can't wait 'til we get the crib!

In non-baby news, I'm knitting a striped scarf to go with my ginormous hat. It will not be as ridiculously oversized as said hat.

Also, life with the automated litter box is freaking fantastic now that the cats are using it. I'm pretty sure that owning the CatGenie 120 makes me one of the bougiest pet owners ever, but I don't care. It's fucking phenomenal to not ever have to smell or scoop out a litter box again. Plus, the cats watch it like television, which makes me laugh.
