Well, the mama cat that had kittens has not moved her babies; in fact, since I started feeding her a few days ago, she doesn't even bother leaving the nest any more because she has food and water right there. It's even gotten to the point where, when she hears the gate open, she comes out hissing until she realizes its me, and then she cries and cries and rubs against my legs until I pet her a bunch. Then she eats while I look in on the babies.
Today I noticed one of the kittens wasn't in the giant pile o' kitties like usual, and when Mama came back to the bunch, she laid down right on top of the loner kitten. I didn't want her to crush it, so I moved a bunch of ladders and wheel barrows out of the way in order to lift up Mama and rescue the wayward kitten. Turns out, it was already dead.
I was so sad that it had died, because it was my favorite kitten out of the bunch. It looked very much like my Mim. So now there are five kittens left (Salazar missed one when he first counted the litter) - two black ones with bits of white, a light gray tabby, and two off white ones, one with veeeery light brown ears and one with gray ears. Mama herself is a white, medium-hair cat with big black patches over her ears and back, and the greenest eyes ever. She's super sweet, and I don't think she's much more than a year or so old, because she's TINY. Not just skinny, but she also just has a VERY petite frame (and soft, not-old fur) that makes me think she's pretty young.
I got pictures of all the babies and the mama, but I can't find Sean's usb cord to upload them to the computer. Once I find that, pictures will be forthcoming.
