I read Naked Empire last year, which is number 8 in the series (I think). My mum had got it for me for christmas, not realising it was part of a series. And, in fairness, it stood alone quite well, as I didn't realise it was part of a series til I had almost finished it. :P

So, I let it be known that if the first one was gotten for me, I'd not be unhappy with the choice.

I plan to read the next few and see how they go. His politics (between the two books I've read) don't seem all that right-wing to me, but perhaps I've not run into the soap box yet.

I wouldn't say 'caters to'.... that's a very small section right at the end of the book.

Even so, it's (much) more extreme than 'submissive'.

Ok, am about 3/4s the way through book 7.

Not that I disagree with you, but could you clarify what you meant a little?

I mean, I have my suspicisions about wot you is talking about, but I *hate* making assumptions. :P
