Ok, hold it!
Just got an email from UBC today reminding me of my 'requirements' to complete my degree.
I knew I needed credits in a language. I was tempted to take Irish as an easy out. But they don't teach Irish at UBC.
This is, however, *not correct*. My complete language requirements state:
2.successful completion of a proficiency examination in any language which is not taught at UBC. Arrangements for appropriate competency testing can be made at Arts Academic Advising;
Passing a competency test in Irish would solve *all* my problems with the Japanese classes. I can't call today (stupid work), but I can look into this on Monday....
