Pretentious, self-aggrandizing, shallow, superficial, misrepresentative, unmitigated tripe.
Aka "Atlas Shrugged", Ayn Rand.
I'm about 100 pages into it, and it's drivel.
I have avoided reading her stuff for a while now. I've read exerpts of her in Philosophy classes, where the stupid moron misrepresents 'altruism' and 'selfishness' constantly, and known that I'd despise any longer writing of hers.
But then when I talk to people on certain subjects (or read about them), they raise points that I agree with that they claim are coming from Ayn Rand.
So I've borrow Atlas Shrugged from a friend, and am taking a swing at it.
I will probably be adding this to my 'is the person that I'm speaking to a moron?' acid-test... (ie if the answer is "Do you think that Atlas Shrugged is an intelligently written piece of fiction?" is yes: person = moron)
I'm going to bed now.
