heat, sweat, more heat, merky water..final day in venice

well, after a nice cool nights sleep with the hotel ac on high, we woke around 7ish and got ready for a long, hot day in venice. we walked to the san marco square were i saw more people in once place that i have ever in my life. oh and about a million pigeons shitting on everything. it quiet a site actually. we didnt go into san marco because the queue was long as hell but we did go in the tower next to it to see venice from up high. what an amazing view it was. the line was short and i got to take some great pictures from there.

after that, we headed to the accademia gallery to look at some art work. the place wasnt air conditioned so there wasnt many people in there which was nice since venice is so over crowded. another thing ive noticed is that it's actually really hard to run into an italian in this city. not joking, everyone we walked by or sat next to were americans.

after the accademia gallery, we ate some lunch at a pizza kaba place with falfels. they hit the spot for sure.

we headed back to the hotel to relax for a bit and escape the heat. our shirts were both soaked and feet hurting from walking for about 4 hours straight. that is a nice thing about venice, you can walk anywhere and not get lost.

after a little nap, we headed to the peggy guggenheim museum and today was the day i was face to face with a salvador dali painting. it was surreal (no pun intendded). the rest of the art work was splendid as well. a lot of jackson pollock of course and some other artiest ive never heard of but really enjoyed there work. it awesome that peggy guggenheim is buried there with head 15 or so dogs.

we went back to the hotel again and booked a gondola ride around 730pm. we hard a lot of time to kill to we walked around more and ate dinner and walked around some more. around 715 we were at the gondola area and the lines were so long that we didnt think we would make the cut to get on. but we did and shared it with 4 other people. it was fantastic minus the nasty smell and the occasional splash of water to touch you. i defiantly will scrub extra hard tonight.

tomorrow we are off to florance for a three night stay. the days are just flying by and by the time we know it, we will be back home. as i sit here, sweating and trying not to drip on the keyboard, i dont have to think twice on how lucky i am to be in italy.

until next time and another city, caio!!
