Update: The vet sent Rori home with me just a bit ago.  She's still wheezing and occasionally has a barking cough but she sounds better and her mucous membranes are nice and pink instead of blue.  Let me back up.  The vet had called at noon to let me know she was able to come off oxygen and was improving.  Her temp had come back up to normal and the aforementioned mucous membranes were a healthy pink.  We decided not to do a bunch of invasive diagnostics but simply to control her symptoms unless she backslides, at which point we'll do a rhinotomy (stick a skinny flexible camera up her nose), x-rays, bloodwork, etc.  She said at that point it was likely I'd be able to take her home to monitor unless she worsened off the oxygen.  So clearly she did ok off the oxygen, yay!

Fast forward: I have to put drops in her nose 3x a day and give her daily antibiotics.  I am fine with this.  She still has the IV in, which will be removed either tomorrow or Friday (it's Friday, Friday, lookin' forward to the weekend, weekend... yeah I showed Robb the video because he hadn't heard it LOLWUT and now it's in my head so I'm sharing the love).  The only wrench in the works is that I'm having that damn epidural injection for my back tomorrow and I'm going to be out of it most of the day from noon on.  FUUUUUUUUUUU.  I'm going to have to chase down a wheezing cat to put drops in her nose when I'm going to be so fucking sore.  Good thing I love that miserable beast.

cats, i has a happy, fail
