So.  Good news of the day: I don't need back surgery.

Bad news?  I have herniated discs at T6, T7, L2, L3, L4, and L5. BASICALLY MY ENTIRE FUCKING BACK IS ONE BIG MESSED UP POS. The orthopaedic surgeon sent me on my way with some Tylenol #3 even though I told him codeine makes me yarf and a referral to an Interventional Pain Management Specialist. Basically a doctor who deals with people like me who have chronic pain and makes them feel better via meds, epidural injections, PT, and all sorts of other procedures. DID YOU KNOW THEY CAN USE RADIO WAVES TO DECOMPRESS DISCS?! Cool story bro. So I have to call and get set up with them tomorrow. So far the codeine is sitting ok, I took it with food. I'm nauseous from my blood sugar being fucked anyway. I see the endocrinologist for THAT in June. /sigh

On one hand, I'm glad I'm finally getting something done for my back AND that I have verifiable proof that it's messed up so I can stop feel like I'm being a whiny twat about it. On the other, some of these, eh, "procedures", sound terrifying. I've had the epidural injections before and they hurt, both while they're doing it and then my back protests mightily for a week or two afterwards but then feels GREAT, so I can deal. But ablation? DNW frying my nerves, kk?

what is this i don't even, stabby pokey, i am a fucked up mutant beast, fucked up
