Do you think I'm sleep deprived:

First, I fell asleep at 8:00 last night in the little boy I was babysitting's bed. Luckily my brother called and woke me up at 8:30, or I would have been there until their parents got home.

Second, I woke up this morning at 10:15 and thought, "Wait, is this Saturday? Am I dreaming?" then realized that I had slept four hours late, unawares, and missed all of my classes. But it was kind of cool, because I got caught up on sleep, then I went to Pilates and to work out.

I know that some of you are thinking, "Aww, med school must be so hard," but let me correct you, because I haven't studied at all this week. I'm just a nightowl, and I can't seem to change that, no matter how I try.

I had my first patient, unsupervised in the hospital Monday. I had to go interview and do applicable exams, and we got nearly an hour and a half. Then I presented to a doctor that I just met, and she went and checked everything. It went pretty well. I suck at presenting the patient to the doctor though... I got corrected almost every sentence, but she was pretty nice about it. Wednesday night at Crisis Ministries, I knew what both of my patients had! Nothing weird-- one had athlete's foot, and the other had a MRSA abscess, most likely. Anyway, we learned them both last semester. Awesome.

Long story, but I'll make it short: yesterday I had on these new killer shoes I got for half price at Steve Madden... they are wedges, and so cute. Anyway, I had these sticky heel inserts to make them not slip, then I decided mid-day that the inserts were not necessary b/c the shoes were a little tight. So I took them out. Then, too late, I realized as I walked that I had glued the backs of my heels to the inside of my shoes from the leftover adhesive. I literally ripped layers of skin off the backs of both feet, and have all kinds of blisters. Then I started walking weird, with my feet halfway out of the shoes, for my final two blocks of the day, which resulted in two novel blisters in a remote place on my foot. My feet used to be tough, when I was a dancer. My legs looked better then, too. (sigh)

Off to make focaccia... my first venture making bread that actually rises. Lindsay will be here tonight, and we're making coq au vin to go with it. Rachel says I'm racking up my domestic goddess points. I am. ;) Ok, Page just talked me out of it. We're going to Sally Beauty Supply and Hancock Fabrics instead. But Hancock is still kind of domestic.
