After reading in the local Gazette Newspaper all the things going on for this weekend in Georgetown, Kelsey & Coloma, it was hard making my mind up just what I wanted to do.

I'll back up a moment, Friday night was spent in Georgetown at the local pub (Miner's Club) which was packed around 6:30 p.m., so I had a nice Chinese dinner down the street. The rest of the night was spent shooting pool, singing karaoke, having 3 drinks & singing "Happy Trails" with the host, then leaving around 2 a.m. Saw my old BF there and he'd brought my helmet and dew-rag for me to transfer to my car. It was a fun night for me (I'd been kind of borderline depressed since the break up over 3 weeks ago) so I really enjoyed myself. On the way home he went down 193 and I took Marshall Rd. and at the stop sign (where he goes left and I go straight) he was stopped, got out and ask if he could come home and snuggle, I'm such a softy :(

Ok next day in Georgetown is a chalk drawing on the sidewalk for all ages (I had 2 friends drawing in that), the annual "tree" raising/decorating in the later afternoon, and the "light Parade" about 5:00 p.m. So we ended up going to Buffalo Hill for brunch and then over to Main Street for all the bazaars and festivities. They had so many warm hats/scarves and home make gifts for sale. I was good, just bought 2 soaps, 1 cookies & a banana nut bread.

After spending the day in town, checking out our local radio stations gathering/food (too bad we'd eaten) and music hall, we meandered through the IOOF's bazaar, the VFW bazaar, and a few more, watching the tree get lit, and the light parade, we headed to the Sierra Nevada House for dinner.

After dinner, we were just in time to see the melodrama "Woe Is The Little Orphans Nanny" or "A Christmas In Coloma" which was ok (the others I've seen were much better). It was mostly younger children and a lot of singing. It was the shortest one I'd been to (which was good because the children were yawning a lot), one little 3 year old really did a great job for his age & was very entertaining.

I must say in closing, it was a wonderful day/night and living up here is such a pleasure. Our communities really come together many times a year and there is always too many things going on to see them all. Next weekend is "Christmas In Coloma", which is always fun and many childrens games/festivities going on. There will be carriage rides through the town and it's all decorated up for the holidays.

Till next time ~Peace & Love Be With Us ALL~
