Over on WinCustomize.com, a massive skinning project (in development since November) is finally being released. The centerpiece of the collection is a
WindowBlinds skin created by vStyler.
For those of you who know what WindowBlinds is, no further explanation is necessary. For those of you who don't know it - WindowBlinds is a utility, created by
Stardock, that allows you to change almost every visual aspect of the Windows XP GUI (graphical user interface, or the parts you see). The cost of the full version is very reasonable, and you can purchase WindowBlinds by itself for $19.95 or you can purchase almost every skinning utility that Stardock produces (called ObjectDesktop) for $49.95. However, you can definitely give it a test drive before you decide to buy it, with a limited functionality version for free download
here.
In addition to the original WindowBlinds skin, with its never-before-done animations and features, which has been the featured skin on both WinCustomize and the main Stardock site and is well on its way to becoming one of the most popular skins in site history:
WinAmp skin (v 2.95) by brihana025 (guess who that is? ;P)
BootSkin by vStyler
Logon by I.R. Brainiac
ObjectDock backgrounds by messiah1
Rainlendar by lovely62
Skins that I know are in development (slated for release within the next two weeks):
Trillian
Windows Media Player
CursorXP
At the moment, all of these were designed for use on Windows XP machines, but reports are coming in that they work almost perfectly on Vista.
Enjoy. :)
