Random things I wish I'd said
So, as the year is winding down to a close, I'm thinking back on all the conversations (online and RL) that I've had this year, and I'm thinking about what I wish I'd said.
You know the feeling, right? You've just had a conversation with someone (usually not a very nice one), and as you walk away, you suddenly think of a dozen different things that you could have said that would have completely changed the way the whole thing ended, or at least gotten your point across better than you originally did.
So... here are ten random things that I wish I'd said to people at some point this past year.
1. If you think I'm a misogynist because I called you a bitch, odds are it's because you are one (a bitch, that is).
2. If you don't like children, teaching probably wasn't the best profession for you to go into.
3. If you insist on holding me responsible for your mental health, then I'm gonna hold you responsible for my high blood pressure.
4. Calling you an idiot is no more an insult to the mentally challenged than calling you an asshat is an insult to underwear.
5. I didn't intend to insult you specifically with what I said, but if it offended you, odds are I was talking about people just like you.
6. Having sex when you don't really want to - with someone who begged/pleaded/cajoled until you gave in - isn't dub-con, it's marriage.
7. No, I will not apologize for yelling at your kid for throwing things at people, and maybe if you did your job, I wouldn't have to.
8. If you spend your time bitching and moaning about people that offend you, you're going to offend someone else (and usually more than one).
9. Having fantasies about real people is perfectly fine; letting those fantasies impact your real life and expecting them to come true is just plain batshit.
10. He's not going to leave her for you - ever - so suck it up and get the fuck over yourself.
