The flu - we haz it

I'm pretty sure that Nerdboy started it. Which of course means that he's over it already. He came home from school one day and passed out on his bed (which he never does), took some Ibuprofen, and was good enough to go to school the next day.

So now, here we are, a week later. I've got a 7-year-old Princess with a three-day long fever that's been as high as 102, a 9-year-old Mojo with a 24-hour long fever that's been as high as 101.2, and a 10-year-old Mr. Universe with a two-day long fever that's been as high as 103.2.

She's got a sore throat and sounds like she's underwater when she talks (it's all in her throat, though), he-the-elder has a cough that makes me wince in sympathy, and he-the-younger just wants to know if he can play the Wii from his bed.

Oh, and that's not even the best part. The best part is that he-the-very-elder, aka their father, aka Hubby... is coming down with it. No fever yet, just flushed cheeks, but he's been sitting wrapped up in my favorite quilt all day watching television.

Oh, and apparently everyone any of us has even looked at in the past week is coming down with it, too.

I'm thinking that a quarantine flag wouldn't be that far out of order at this point.

reality bytes, rant: real life (gasp!)
