OK, so, yesterday, or was it the day before, I got on a plane, and ended up in lovely Alabama!
Yes, this sounds like such an easy thing to do, wwhich it is. It may involve something like 21 hours of flying and 5 plane changes, but it's a walk in the park for me.For my family and some of my friends, just taking the plane from Australia to the U.S is adventure enough. For me, the adventure doesn't begin until I arrive.
I have been eagerly anticipating this vacation for a long time, and still can't quite believe I'm finally here, and not feeling ridiculously jet lagged! Just wait, I may eat my words later... ;-)
I have been here twice before, and had some of the best times of my life. Things friends and I did were visiting Yosemite National Park, qua hogging (hardshell clam hunting), taking a walk at night through a swamp (I've done this twice, now, and would love to do it again!), Going to see the play about Helen Keller, being buried in the sand as part of a fun photo shoot, and much more.
For the most part, I have no idea what fun things I will do this time, with the exception of seeing the second part of the Helen Keller play, as it got rained out last time, going to a friend's 50th birthday party, and attending the wedding of two very good friends!
Whatever we do, I'm ready for it!
