Monday Chatter - TGIO

Dec 01, 2014 07:18

In NaNoWriMo circles, today is known as TGIO. Stands for Thank God It's Over. Apparently writing a novel in a month is stressful. Who knew? To those of you who made it, CONGRATULATIONS! For those who did not, welcome to my boat!

For me, it's the end of a four day weekend and now I'm on the train back to work. Boo. It's not that I don't wanna go to work. I just don't see why work has to start at 0800. Can I get a what-what?

I'm not even ashamed to say I spent the majority of my vacation sleeping and watching Netflix. For one thing, my knee is still injured and it needed the rest. For another, I love sleeping and doing nothing. It's definitely a waste of potential, but it feels amazing. If I had died this weekend, you would have found my body sprawled out in an armchair, deadpan stare focused on a 51" screen. Call that a happy death. "She went peacefully, having just finished another season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

I don't understand morning people. I could work a morning job the rest of my life and still not understand it. Nothing worth seeing can be seen before noon. If I wanna watch the sun rise, I'll just stay awake for it. Now, I get the argument that a whole day feels wasted if you slept too long, but I think you're focusing on the negative here. I mean, you got to SLEEP. ALL DAY. What is there about that that didn't feel wonderful? Sleep is an essential need of the body. It speeds healing, improves mood, bolsters basic immunity, mends superficial injury, and lends ease to the troubled mind. Sleep is a literal kind of magic. You're telling me a day is wasted if spent doing wizardry?

Are you a get-up-and-go, or a lay-back-down-and-stay?

BONUS QUESTION: If you competed, how did NaNoWriMo go for you?
