Oi.

I've decided that not having Braden and Tia here on Saturdays can be oddly miserable.  I don't don't really think of Josh's friends as "my" friends, with the closest exception being Peacock.  So it's interesting to be surrounded by people....talking about a hobby and/or work you don't share...and feeling lonely.  Yup.

I sat on the couch with the laptop out of a compulsion to be social and exchanged IMs with Josh's brother Mat, while Josh and Don played Warhammer 40k.  Steve was over at the table painting his models, Peacock was reading codexes, and the rest of us were...well, sitting on the couch amusing ourselves because we don't play.  Yup.

I've discovered that I enjoy painting the models with Josh, though.  Enoguh so that I want my own damn army...not so much to play, but just to sit there and paint little figures.  >.>  Naturally the one that I'm most interested in is also one of the most expensive because it's still mostly pewter figures, not plastic.  Sigh.

Josh's color scheme is just BORING.  Black and silver?  Pfft.

In GOOD stuffs, riding lessons are going well.  Diane finally decided that I'd gotten the sitting trot down solidly enough that it was time to include canter work again.  All that torture improved my seat, and I felt much more secure at the canter.  I had only a slight twinge of nervousness--much different than 2 months ago right after my fall!  So, I think I'm pretty much "over it" and back on track now.

Owning a Tennessee Walker spoiled me though.  Seriously, FUCK trotting.  :P

Of course Junior, who had gotten pretty good at maintaining a calmer trot, got all worked up against once we did the "c word".   That's all he wanted to do afterward!  What a dork.  Hello, Jun, you're 20, didn't you get the Old Horse memo?

I might even start jumping sometime this year, haha.  I think I'd be content putzing around low level eventing.  It looks fun.  That and competitive trail riding is about the extent of my ambitions.

Blah blah stuff blah.

random shit, ponehs
