I didn't get to ride this weekend-fail.
I have decided that Eclipse is a dear and I want to steal him. He's learned that I do not want to be used as a full body face scratcher, but if he nudges me I'll hold my arm out and he'll gleefully rub all over that. He also likes to shove his nose RIGHT IN MY FACE while we're standing, which natureally means that I have to kiss his nose. I mean that's what he's doing that for, right? Right.
Yeah..so the big, doofy Hungarian Warmblood has totally stolen the Second Favorite spot from Richie. Sorry Richie...you're a good boy but you HAVE NO PERSONALITY.
His brother Keiray continues to intimidate the hell out of volunteers, despite being a harmless loaf of a horse. How can you be afraid of a horse with a huge head, even huger ears, and partially msising front teeth earning him the nickname Hillbilly? That's not scary. Even at 17+ hands.
Also, someone needs to buy me this horse for my birthday, kthx:

http://www.crosswindseqresq.org/val.html In non-pony stuff, I'm currently working on a story called "Penance" that takes place in the same world as my previous NaNo novel...and indeed, as most of my original fantasy work. It's giving me fits. I am mostly resisting the urge to throw out the ending, AGAIN, and start over. Part of the problem is that it is using (mostly) new characters, so I'm struggling a lot to get them to sound...right, when I am not sure what "right" is.
I also am starting to chew on my plot for the next NaNo...which, yes, is another Empire story. It could be considered a prequel to Daughters of Darkness, in a sense.
I have a binder full of notes and stuff for DoD edits, but I haven't gotten it back yet from any of my volunteer editors. Thus I am...banned from touching it. It hasn't been abandoned by any means, but until they either get back to me, or I find new volunteer editors, it shall sit.
