Yay RENT!!!!
Mark and I just got back from seeing RENT at the movie theater. Totally kicked ass! Even Mark, who grudgingly goes to musicals because I like them, said that it was "A good compliment to the musical". That's a direct quote! :-) I wasn't terribly crazy about how some of the songs were switched around, but they were workable and didn't disrupt the flow of the movie. Rosario Dawson was a great replacement Mimi, and I was very pleased with her singing. The rest of the cast of course was wonderful, including the woman who played Joanne who I was not as familiar with. I really felt the same way that I had when I saw it as a musical in Chicago. Very very very good. Can't wait for it to come out on DVD so I can drive my husband nuts with it.
