Damon and compulsion...

...still bothers me. And the promo and webclip for the upcoming episodes haven't made that better. Had it just been because he wanted Andie to forget what he said, I could have dealt with that. But he is really just toying with her ( Read more... )

i'm sorry it bothers you so much :(
it doesn't bother me at all. I never found anything he did to Caroline bad either. That sounds really awful but it's true *Kanye shrug*

I'm starting to sound like such an Elena :/ I think he'll stop soon enough with that compelling shit.

Not sure why it does bother me. I like my boys bad and my vampires crazy. So I'm getting what I want in some ways. Vampires like Stefan are just sooo....Edward, you know?!

I'm weird. But I'm cool with that right now.

Not sure why though. Maybe the fact that it's still all about Elena. That speech before he killed Jessica about him not being able to be who she wants him to be? Who the hell cares what Elena wants him to be?

I guess I'm conflicted because I love dark characters and it would be fine with me if he decided to do things differently for himself. But the constant Elena thing is just really getting irritating!

You know it doesn't bother me because for me is a vampire thing and I love to see Damon still acting as a vampire, but I am sad that he does for all wth wrong reasons.
He is not compelling Andie because he wants to be bad and evil as he was with caroline...he compells her because he kinda needs her as a therapy since he is breaking and he needs to keepit together..for Elena. It's using Andie as a device that it's something I don't like.

Anyway I know the actress is working on another show right now, and Ian said she won't be around much. I hope he won't kill her but I can see it coming.

It won't touch my love for Damon. If you love a vampire you have to deal with his dark side, you can't love him and wanting him acting like a a human...and btw humans are not exactly good and perfect. Just see Alaric and his reactions to pretty much everything.

Humans are very flawed. And the fact that Andie is used to get Damon back into saving Elena shape....ugh. I'm so sick of him doing everything for her. I wonder though about that. Maybe the writers are moving away from that a little. In the last epi he didn't want her touching him and he seemed annoyed by her trying to get him to do what she wanted. So there might be hope yet!

Damon acting like a human, I think you mean a little weak? Like Stefan? What is so weird to me is that Stefan only lets Damon anywhere near Elena if Stefan knows that Damon is the only one who can help. In otehr situations it like 'Damon who'? I can't wait to see more about how their relationship got as warped as it is!

I thin kwhat gets me is that I do like darker characters and vampires with that. It's always going to be Damon.

145 years. He loved her for 145 years (and this does not include the time he spent as a human also loving her...).

That is not something you just move on from. Also, Damon is a vampire. Why shouldn't he compel her? It's one of the many tools he has and to ask him not to is to ask him not to be a vampire...

I think sometimes people forget what he is. And there is all this talk (particularly from Elena) that he should 'feel' and 'behave' and blah, blah, blah.

My question is... WHY? Why should he do that? Yes, Stefan does (to an extent) but that is only because Stefan is trying NOT TO BE A VAMPIRE.

I have no problem with any of what Damon does because... he is a vampire (not to mention a fictional character)!

Very fictional! I just get very drawn in with characters like the Salvatore brothers. They would be interesting to me if the were not vampires.

145 years and then some. He would have taken her back even after finding out she was never in the tomb and she just used him. He doesn't do anything halfway does he.

With the feeling part...I think most of the things we do as people is about not feeling. Drinking, drugs, extreme sports. And all kinds of other ways of escapism. If he has a way of not having to feel the pain of 145+ years of knowing the woman you love doesn't feel the same way (because deep down he must have known even then), his father killing him and his brother, and not to mention the war he was in... Elena doesn't have a clue. As much as her character does have some positive points, meanly she just irritates the hell out of me.

What can I say, I love talking about characters, be it in tv shows, books or legend. Sometimes is helps me ;) And it's plain fun to try and figure things out and chat about it.
