Info on her here at IMDb. This woman deserves some support.
Why do you ask? Well, for some reason fandoms, not just H50, feels the need to vent their dislike of writing choices (or characters) by sending the actors hate mail. In all sorts of ways. Obviously not EVERY SINGLE PERSON in that fandom, but it's those few that leave a big mark. To me, sending anybody nasty twitters, facebook messages or what ever is bullying. Plain and simple.
I don't think that tactic has EVER worked, correct me if I'm wrong about that though. The writers of the show, the producers, the people who OWN this show make the choices.
So this actress comes into a team of actors AND her character comes into a team of people working like a well-oiled machine. That's never going to be easy. Add to that this woman getting lines that make you go WUT? And there you go.
There are a lot of reasons people are putting forward for why this character was even introduced. Sexing up the show, steering things away from the slashy side of life (because men can't have an awesome chemistry and banter without people getting homophobic) and even that they needed a blond... Now, I don't see the logic in bringing in the character the way they did, only to let go of that reason. She was introduced as a 'babysitter' (and rumored love interest) but so far, it seems that she never even talks to the governor. There have been a few lines that made it seem like the writers plan on having Steve and Lori ending up getting together (because the blond having sex with the boss in so original). But no more talking to the gov?
