A lot of people in her family, especially, were questioning what it would look like, and really didn't like the idea of a "rainbow" wedding or of the men and women in black. But as it turned out it was really, really sharp, and we got a lot of compliments. You can't tell, but even the flowers on the cake were rainbow colored.
The arch isn't how I would have done it...I'd have secured the balloons to it more, and probably used more of them to really fill it out. But I was busy arranging the room, and getting the tables set up, and looking at it now, I think it looked pretty. We don't have a single picture of the tables, and they were all themed! We had one table of each color, and everything on the table...the wedding bells to make the couple kiss, the candy's, the center pieces....everything was that color. It was cool.
What's funny is the rainbow is backwards...red, orange, yellow should be on the left, and green, blue, purple on the right. But the bride didn't want the girls in red, orange, yellow, so she flipped it! :oD The mothers matched the wedding theme, too...the mother of the groom wore a red dress, and the mother of the bride wore a purple one. It was cool.
the arch looks great with the balloons dangling just a few of each color. what a great idea to use so many colors! i bet it was fun doing all the shopping ;-)
Actually, you'd be surprised what a pain in the ass all the colors were! Everything was made in five colors, not six...orange would be missing, or purple, or red....really annoying. And then if things were even slightly off primary we couldn't use it. If we'd had more time, like more than five weeks, it would have been fun, but....OMG....so exhausting. :oD
The actual wedding was WONDERFUL...so much fun! The planning leading up to it about killed me AND my friendship. >.< Fortunately, we made it through with flying colors...and look at the beautiful memories we made. :o)
