In other news...my beef stew brings all the boys to the yard. That's right, it's better than yours. Damn right, it's better than yours. I could teach you, but I'd have to charge.
Sorry...got caught up in a tangent.
Anyway, it really is the shiznit. The piece de resistance is the ad hoc'd parsely/garlic/cheddar dumplings I put on top, tho. I made the stew in the crockpot, which in my opinion, tends to hide flavors no matter how well you season. I thought the dumplings were a little too garlicky at first, and was concerned...until I got them down into the gravy of the stew, where they complimented the flavor of the beef so well I nearly cried.
YAY! Another fattening, winterish culinary masterpiece under my belt. No recipe used. BOO-YA!!
