...but I love them even more now that OUR AIR CONDITIONER IS FIXED!!!!!!!!!
I am so excited!!
I walked outside at work today, from normal temperature controlled rooms into a brick wall of 58% humidity, 89 degree heat. I could hardly breath. I felt like I was trying to breath underwater. The air was so heavy I felt like a ton of bricks had been dropped on top of my chest. I knew right then - I couldn't do this all weekend.
So, I went back to my desk and called Chris. I said we didn't really need groceries anyway - could we please at least call a repair person and see how much it would be to even take a look at it?? It took some whining, but eventually he said yes. I whipped out my phone book and started calling. Eventually, I found someone who could not only come out today, but in HALF AN HOUR from when I was calling. JACKPOT!! Chris rushed home, and the guys had already checked out the outside portion of the A/C. They said some wires from the motor had gotten caught in the fan, and ripped the motor apart. New motor and everything should be good as new. He had the precise motor we needed in his truck.
And saints be praised, Chris actually said yes!!!!!!!!!
One hour and $300.00 later, cool air was once more flowing through our home. Now, five hours later, it is seventy-five degrees in here and my eyes are actually a tad bit dry...not a drop of humidity to be found. Sure, I'll miss the crickets, and the wailing train...but I can always turn the A/C off and open the windows, any day I like. However now, if I get too uncomfortable, I can turn the A/C back on again. That control would have been worth...well, a helluva lot more than 300.00 bucks, in my opinion!!!!!!!
A/C!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :oD
