so yesterday after my little pity party entry i decided to change my attitude, completely, and i did email the photographer back since her smallest package was not only more costly, but actually included more time than i needed and she does say, she likes to work her clients to find the package that fits them

Awesome! If I could change one thing about my wedding day I would have hired the best photographer we could afford. We used a friend and he was *ok*, but the pictures have always made me sad. My sister got a hot shot photographer from San Francisco flown in and her pictures are amazing (my mom was dating the guy at the time so she got a $3k package for like $1200).

cake and pictures - those are the two things i went into this KNOWING that i wanted to splurge on. my dress was $50. we're all wearing chuck taylors unless i go barefoot. we're having some yummy (but cheap) hors d'ourves, the chapel is $200, we'll get the cheapest officiant we can find. but cake and pictures i won't compromise on! especially because i am usually so unhappy with how many pictures come out, after i pay for them, i just knew it had to be kim when i met her and that she'd do the best job.

I seriously need to become a wedding photog on the side. They make bank! And congrats -- glad it worked out for you. :)

she's not just a wedding photographer, but yes, even the ones that only do weddings on the side, do well.

she has worked with two of my favorite, big-time, long-standing studios in town (kim jew and kyle zimmerman) for almost ten years. i didn't know this when i met her, i just assumed she was starting her own business from the ground up. but she's amazing. i'm editing the entry with a link to website since i was in a hurry this morning and didn't do it then.
