Here I am in Wall, South Dakota.
We weren't far off when we joked about this being the nexus of hell, home of N. Demon. The Badlands are just that... bad. Incredibly awesome, but it's unreal that anything survives in them. There are nuclear missile silos dotting the countryside.
And they have horned rabbits called Jackalopes...
