Having re-watched Avatar the Last Airbender recently...
... I can honestly say that I do not like Katara/Aang.
AT. ALL.
That's my opinion.
Not big on Zuko/Katara either.
In fact, Katara was pretty annoying. She does not play well upon repeated viewings. At least she didn't for me.
Aang wasn't as annoying except in that last season. Then he was plenty annoying.
Zuko remains a great character to me. He had the true hero's journey. Still sucks to me that he ended up with the girl who sold out her family.
Liked Suki more.
Still thought Sokka made the show.
But Toph is still all kinds of awesome to me.
That said, the biggest problem that I had was the same problem I had the first time around: If the avatar is about balance, then bending is an affront to nature's balance because bending nature goes against balance.
