And to answer your question, yes, they can. But Harry has an excellent point--only in the right circumstances, and with a little bit of a miracle.
I'm supporting Bill Richardson. His resume, (12 years in Congress, Governor of New Mexico, Secretary of Education and Ambassador to the U.N. under Clinton, 4 time Nobel Peace Prize nominee, successful negotiations with Kim Jong Il, Saddam Hussein, Fidel Castro...) is just much stronger than anybody else's. I think that he has great energy proposals, and is solid on national defense. I also think, perhaps a bit cynically, that having a Latino candidate from the west would help the Dems will more battleground states.
