Ok, you guys. I know I'm not exactly what you would call an ACTIVE member of livejournal, and I don't go on every day. I'm not the biggest blogger, or the biggest protester.
This is concerning not only LJ and YouTube, but others also. It is a cause for protest and a cause for us to come together.
A certain community has own my life this past week, but I have heard of some recent news that has considerably disgusted me.
"Perverted Justice"
You've probably heard of this, seeing as YOU are part of LiveJournal.
Examples:
Harry/Draco Shippers
Snape/Harry Shippers
Any gay shippers at ALL.
Cakeforever users.
These are only a few fandoms that are getting banned from LJ. And YouTube is deleting members that have continualy posted their MANIPS and ART in videos that are considered "perverted". Videos that people have made THEMSELVES are being deleted, and members IP addresses are being banned.
LJ users are being forced to create BACK UP ACCOUNTS on another site for their LJ. PAID MEMBERS that were guarenteed a permanent account are being DELETED AND PERMANENTLY BANNED from livejournal.
I know that most of you have lives, but imagine being deleted from here, just because you supported something fictional, or because you had an OPINION. Just imagine that and you can understand what the deleted and banned members of LiveJournal and YouTube feel like.
If you are in any way part of ANY fandom at all add
fandom_counts and add them.
Just adding them and you'll be counted. This account was started this morning, and already has over 34000 members.
The Harry Potter fandom is the one being targeted in recent reports, not directly, but still, it is a main target. If you are part of any fandom, and are part of LiveJournal, add that account. And make your opinion count.
I am a full on supporter of Harry/Draco. I have read some of the greatest fanfictions ever on LiveJournal.
I knew that some people liked NC-17. But they WARNED us before we clicked anything. They put it behind an LJ cut, and made sure there was a warning.
Never did I think that they would be criticized for their art.
