Lumines is fun and addicting, yay! I finally maxed out the score at 999,999, yay!
I played for 2 hours and 27 minutes when I realized I had maxed out the score. I'm not sure when it happened because I wasn't able to easily pay attention to that part of the screen at the time. I did notice when I realized the skin hadn't changed for a long time and that I was still doing wonderful, so it should have changed. I guess when you max out the score the skins stop changing...the levels still go up though. I noticed the score at level 227 and got to level 240 before saying screw it. Had about 6804 deletes...or 6408...crap can't remember. I do remember the last time I cleared the screen of a single color was at level 202.
The skin that is unlocked is quite sweet too, but I'm not sure if it's precisely worth the effort. It's very tranquil but that's about it. I like the skins that change the placement of the scores, time, deletes, etc. Also the ones with unique pieces and the like. One of my favorites was probably the one you get for doing all the puzzles once called 45 degrees, and indeed it is as it says. Instead of blocks or circles(or circles in blocks) the pieces are all diamonds. It's fairly neat.
One thing still puzzles me and that's the level system for the game. Right now I'm inclined to say that it goes by deletions instead of score, because I've played past the skin I was on when I maxed the score. It's hard to say because I was clearing one color a lot and that gives a 1000 point bonus and I cleared the screen two or three times and that gives 10,000 points, so I don't know. Maybe it doens't count those or something...maybe it glitched and the skin got stuck, who knows. I might test this tomorrow when I have time, see if the level changes at a certain score range or deletion number.
In other news: My tv should be here no later than Thursday. I'm going to call the repair shop tomorrow either after lunch, or after Japanese...actually I should probably do it after lunch because they seem to either get busy after 3:30 or go home early. I could potentially have it here tomorrow, but I'd have to get my dad to go and get the tv from them after he's done working, and there's no guarantee he'll be done before they close at 5 since he's doing freelance electrical work now. My mom is off Thursday though, so that's their plan...my only concern is how the hell are they going to get it in the house if my mom is the only one there. It takes two people to lift that thing. I might be screwed.
Not much else going on, school is school. We played Monopoly tonight and it's been the first time I've lost in a long time...unless I'm forgetting sometime I played in the last year or something. It took forever due to the Free Parking Pot, which is something I hate usually unless I'm trying to play a fast game.
Oh, my PC is still acting up. Not too sure what the hell is wrong with it, the video card might need to be replaced. It's also having troubles getting online, and Cisco is not helping one bit with this problem(and might actually be the cause). First week I didn't have to do any updating for Cisco to approve my computer, now it won't even reinstall. Also it keeps crashing when I play video games, that's what leads me to believe the video card needs to be replaced. Which would be expensive...well, sorta. If I get back on at Best Buy they have a deal with ATI and I can order vid cards online at work for much cheaper than I've ever seen anywhere else. Like getting their best one for less than 180. Which wouldn't help me since I don't have pci-express ports. I don't know why I disregarded them when I built my machine, I guess I thought AGP was better or something(which it might be, I don't really know even now), but it's clear that pci-express is now the most popular type of card.
Edit: Okay I think something in my pc has blown up now, the bios only checks the memory, says it's ok, and then stops...so shit. I'm gonna take it apart later and see if I can figure out what the problem is and if I have to whore myself out for money to buy a new processor and motherboard or something...*sigh*
Double Edit: Computer is now fixed, cept for the original problems of no internet and video game crashes...that is all.
