1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before? got a full-time job, got my own apartment, got a ferret.

2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year? i don't make new year's resolutions.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? no. brittany's prego again, though.

4. Did anyone close to you die? no. thank god. grandma's worrying us, though.

5. Where did you visit? denver a couple of times, south bend...shit, man. that's about it.

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008? a sane roommate.

7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? 5-1 (moving into my first apartment), 7-9 (finding out I got my first teaching job), 8-25 (first day with my own classroom), 12-9 (hey, bf)

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? getting a teaching job and my own apartment.

9. What was your biggest failure? I really don't think much of this year was a failure.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? still going through various girly procedures.

11. What was the best thing you bought? ok. didn't buy it, but my apartment! so glad to be on my own.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? linette for putting up with me. haha.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? jim. hard to believe that he's the same man I loved.

14. Where did most of your money go? rent. by far.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? getting my own classroom, getting my own apartment.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. Happier or sadder? happier.
ii. Thinner or fatter? thinner.
iii. Richer or poorer? uh. making more money, but have many more bills.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of? spent more daytime hours downtown, traveled.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of? running around in circles.

20. How did you spend Christmas? we'll spend it at aunt carolyn's, as usual.

21. Who/what made the biggest difference in your life this year? jaime a. aguirre, linette segaline, aaron keefner.

22. Did you fall in love in 2008? no.

23. How many one-night stands? do they count as one-night stands if you were friends before/after? fine. then, one.

24. What was your favorite TV program? heroes, csi, lost, and house.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? hate is a strong word. i dislike someone a significant amount, now, when i didn't at all last year.

26. What was the best book you read? ummm. i really can't remember. been a slow book year, apparently.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery? DG. 'nough said.

28. What did you want and get? to visit denver more, a decent lolla line-up (ok, just one day), more friends who live by me, someone of the opposite sex to spend significant time with.

29. What did you want and not get? a cool roommate, good money in my bank account, a new laptop.

30. What was your favorite film of this year? juno.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? i turned 23. i really don't remember what i did. i think tammy dragged me to the 5th, but some mexican was supposed to hang out with me and didn't!

32. What would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? not a whole lot. i'm pretty damn happy with the year.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008? more and more teachery. i need to get some more money, so i can buy clothes that don't need to double as options to wear for teaching.

34. What kept you sane? getting my own apartment and out of mom's house!

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? house.

36. What political issue stirred you the most? it wasn't the political issue. it was the way people treated each other over political issues, that bothered me.

37. Who did you miss? drank, dave, and niki because i don't see them nearly enough.

38. Who was the best new person you met? jaime alfonso.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008? don't live with any random girl from fucking schaumburg.
