Hello, Rose

Pictures will come soon, but for now...
We've named the kitten Rose. This came after much deliberation. We decided that our love of Doctor Who, my favorite flower, and the rose bush in our front yard won out over the more mythological names on the list.
Rose is a golden red shorthair tabby with gigantic golden eyes and intricate markings. She looks slightly alien due to the proportion of her head and her body. Early this morning, I woke up from a deep sleep to find her nose to nose with me, little head cocked to the side, almond-shaped alien eyes staring at me with an extraordinary curiosity. "Hi," I murmured. She immediately began licking my exposed cheek and the entire side of my face. Then she went back to Adam and lay down on his pillow. She woke us both up around eleven. We spent an hour playing with her, tossing her a furry rattling mouse toy that she attacked with all the ferocity a young kitten can muster.
As for the multiple cat situation, it's interestingly backwards. Luna is the one who isn't comfortable, while Jupiter appears to have assigned himself to be her babysitter. He follows little Rose from room to room, settling down comfortably when she eats and plays and uses the litter box in the spare room. He'll hear her cries and come running. He'll sniff her but won't touch her. So will Luna, but Luna will also narrow her eyes and give a short, light hiss, ocassionally moving toward the kitten in brief, pounce-like bounds, as if to say back off. But Luna has not harmed Rose. So, I'm thinking that they'll be just fine, and given time, they'll become friends.
In fact, Adam and I tested that by going to PetSmart and Wal-Mart this afternoon. We bought kitten food, a kitten milk supplement, a cat bed, a crystal blend litter, and more toy mice. We came home two hours later, to find Rose hanging out in Jason's room, while Luna and Jupiter were curled up in the spare room. When Rose ran into the spare room, the two older cats snapped to attention, watched her for a bit, and went back to lounging.
I think it will be fine.
