Shh, cats napping

Well, the potential exciting thing has happened. It's been about an hour and a half. Jupiter is lounging lion-like on the kitty tree, Luna us gazing out the living room sliding doors, and the kitten? The kitten is curled up on the couch, asleep.
Yeah, kitten.
The woman works with Charlotte, and had an unexpected surprise. Her medium-haired female orange tabby escaped the house, and came back pregnant. But by the time the owners realized, it was too late to go through with the spay surgery. The litter of five females was born in the middle of April, all orange, three short-haired. The owner, Kathy, needed to find them homes, since she already had five cats. Charlotte passed the information on to me and Adam, and suggested that perhaps we might like one. We thought about it. We considered it long and hard, every possible outcome. How would Luna and Jupiter react to a very young kitten, instead of an older, shy female?
We went with Charlotte to Kathy's today, and picked the one we thought might be most compatible. We had already discussed with Kathy the possibility that we might have to bring the kitten back if our cats didn't like it.
We brought the little one home. We put the carrier on our bed, where Luna was napping. That introduction went very oddly -- Luna didn't really care. She sniffed the baby, shrugged, and ate her treats.
Jupiter would be a different story, we assumed. We opened the bedroom door and let him in. He meowed, stared at the kitten, and jumped up on the dresser with the food. He sat and stared. And stared. No expression, no ear movement, only a slight thump of his tail from the tip.
We brought the kitten to the living room. Then to the kitchen where the feeder was. She ate and drank quite a bit, and Luna and Jupiter came into the kitchen and ate the wet food a few feet away. I was as nervous as I could be, but again, the older cats didn't seem to mind the baby.
We brought the kitten back to the living room. We entertained all three cats with a laser pointer, which seemed to ease any tensions. Luna bapped the kitten on the head once, as did Jupiter. I tensed up at that, but again, everything seemed fine.
The kitten is quite playful, naturally. She is now asleep on the couch.
Jupiter seems okay. Luna seems okay. This feels weird to me. There was no agression, no fear, no actual reaction. Huh. I don't think we'll need to bring the kitten back to Kathy. We are still thinking about names. My anxiety is still somewhat high, since Adam's idea of initial introduction was unconvential. But everything seems to be fine so far.

Updates to follow.
