I survived another work/course/vacation in Haliburton. Came out of it with some pretty darn shiny new objects too. Literally! I took a silver jewellery casting this year (last year I took bellydancing; my mom took Japanese brush painting course this year).
Brief highlights:
- My class was awesome.
- I made four silver sculptures (carved from wax then burned to oblivion in its plaster coating, then filled with molten silver and cleaned up)
- I made stuff far beyond what I thought my sculpting/carving ability was when I went in
- We found a home for a stray cat living around our motel within 24hours of meeting it. (the sweetest calico darling ever) Her name is now Sumi (for Sumi-e the brush painting course she was in with my mom) and her lady is thrilled since her Calico of 20 years had just died 2 weeks prior and she was feeling rather lost herself.
- I'm really tired and start right back into jobs first thing tomorrow morning again already.
- Will post photos!
(Man I have a backlog of photos to upload around the web...)
