FKFicFest Closing Ceremonies Were Sunday

Jun 03, 2010 08:07

The first fkficfest game closed on Sunday.  The game wrapped up with "party favor"/"door prize" 100-word drabbles for each of the on-time players.  Then " The Closing Ceremonies" posted, with the masterlist of all stories entered in the game, cheers for all the great writers, beta-readers and readers, and answers to some final admin questions ( Read more... )

For the time being, you could put a master list in the community profile. Of course that would only work until the next go-round before it got unwieldy.

Or put a link to the master list in the profile. That would work better.

Thank you. Yes, I definitely plan to revise the profile very soon and include a link to the masterlist, and also to the tags page (for people who don't know where to find that). However, I would also like to have those links right at the top of the community for people who wander over from a link elsewhere. We'll figure it out!

There are no comments on the masterlist, so you could just delete and repost it, unless you really want it dated for that Sunday.

Or, yes, link to it from the profile. I like communities that do that, especially when they've run more than one round.

Yes, you're right; I'll link to the masterlist from the profile when I update it (soon).

A few people have linked to the current post, though just as you checked, none have commented. If I can't figure out a sticky-post alternative, I'm thinking of a very brief, new post, with just the links and information most useful for this hiatus. Then I can repost that to top the community every time we need to make some sort of PSA. :-)

I hate to bother people with that on their f-lists, though. Which is why I want a sticky post... We'll figure it out! I'm supposed to be teaching myself CSS anyway...

>Fiction games are a huge part of our identity as FK fandom, from the preeminent FKFic-L "War" team games, to list challenges like "Forever Not," the "Song Challenge" and the "Card Challenge," to stories given as gifts, round-robins, and much more. <

Although I've been a fan since 1994, I started writing quite late, in 2003. So I missed all those games and challenges while FK-fiction was in its zenith. I'm very glad that the games still continue and that I got the chance to participate. It's wonderful that 15 years after its cancellation FK still provides inspiration for stories to come forth. This seems truly eternal... :)

Thank you very much for playing with us! And yes, it's a delight and a comfort that FK still gives us so much... and still needs us so much, perhaps. ;-) Battle of Hastings! :-)
