Summary: Sherlock needs to test a theory about his nicotine habit. The results are not what he expects.

This was a gorgeous piece of writing! The characterization was wonderful and spot-on right down to John's subtle movements. I can't decide if I want a sequel or not because the note that this fic ended on was so bittersweet and human and real... but I would absolutely love to read more Sherlock fic from you if you would be willing to write it!

Thank you so much! I love the way John moves in the series: his first scene with Mycroft, where he keeps making eye contact/not making eye contact? Brilliant.

You know, I'm in the should I/shouldn't I? boat with you. I did intend this story as a stand-alone; on the other hand, I always want Sherlock and John to work it out somehow. But in any case, I'm sure this won't be my last Sherlock fic.
