Thanks for a new story. I think Mycroft is playing a game that he can't control. Lestrade might be a trained police officer but he is working without backup or support. He doesn't have minions to send out to answer questions for him. No one is thinking about the details like how John over powered the guards or left the area without anyone seeing him. This isn't a place with invisibility cloaks or teleportation.

Good points about Lestrade. Police work definitely relies on an organization to help manage cases, but Lestrade has none of that here. Mycroft is definitely taking some risks.

Ha, yes, if John had an invisibility cloak, well, we would be in a different fandom, probably!

(The Empty Hearse! *squeee*)

Teh Shoes!!! *SQUEEE*

I knew Mycroft must have a convoluted plan, but I hadn't imagined anything baroque enough. He's cleverer than anyone else, but not quite clever enough to anticipate his 'pawns' behaviour in every situation...

I'm still worried for John, look forward to the next section.

(I second your Empty Hearse *squee!*)

Yes, Mycroft is a great planner, but he doesn't understand everything about human nature. He certainly doesn't understand everything about Lestrade.

As for John, well, would anything bad happen to a character in a story of mine? Er, wait...
