"I'm a drama abolitionist"

My aunt wants us to spend Christmas in the US again. While I usually squee at the prospect of going abroad, this time, I'm saying, OH GOD NO. @_@
  • I HAVE NO MONEY! And I'd rather spend it in New York!
  • Freaking, freaking cold.
  • I love my cousin Anthony (Aunt A's kid) and all, but I'd hate to say it, but he sometimes tests my patience. Anyway, there'll be plenty of chances to see him, in a few years. Then again, there might be the chance that he has outgrown his tantrums within a year.
  • The holidays are boring there. It's much more festive here.
  • It'll be therese6883's last Christmas here in a while, before she settles in New York.
  • I'll miss out on Kylie again, because she spends the holidays in the Philippines.
  • We'll spend a shorter time there, as opposed to going during my brothers' summer vacation.
So, I'm kind of hoping I can convince my aunt and dad that we'd go to the US next spring instead, during my brothers' summer vacation. That way, I can hitch a free ride with them, and just spend my own money to fly from Los Angeles to New York, should the trip with the Bench goes through, and I suuuure hope it does.

But when we're back in California next time, I'd actually want to make the trip up to San Francisco. Our plans last time were postponed because we were all tired from using up the SoCal City Pass and driving to and fro Las Vegas twice.

And I'd actually like to go through Napa Valley and dine in a Thomas Keller restaurant. Hee hee. The French Laundry, ideally, of course, but with such a big crowd to feed ($$$$$), we'd have a better chance at the family-oriented Ad Hoc. ...Okay, if budget or time constraints prevent us from eating at Ad Hoc, we'll surely be going back to Las Vegas, and this time, I'll insist on stopping by Bouchon. I knew I already nearly wept when I passed by the "This way to Bouchon" signs at the Venetian.

If only I could, I'd have a sandwich for lunch every day. ...Now that our new office finally has a fridge...hey, why not? I can dump my veggies, cheese, and cold cuts there. It's ironic how decent sandwiches here are more expensive than rice meals.

Almon Marina has become my new favorite sandwich place, displacing Oliver's, after Trina's boyf got a case of food poisoning there. At Almon Marina, I've yet to try a sandwich I didn't like. They're waaaaay cheaper than Délifrance too.

It's funny how they call them "gourmet sandwiches", when they're just typical deli fare.

Fave so far is the Reuben sandwich, which I actually prefer with a baguette. You can't go wrong with a corned beef-sauerkraut-emmental combo. Yum.

I'm actually curious to go see Secret Diary of a Call Girl, but...it's Billie Piper in the title role.

I have disliked her immensely since I knew of her existence...ten years ago, when she was still the Smash Hits Girl.

*sigh* Yes in my teen days, I would collect Smash Hits. I have disclosed my reasons several times in the past, and I wouldn't want to repeat them right now. =P So, she was there, in every issue, flashing her fubugly mug.

And then, for some bizarre reason, some manager thought that she had "talent" from her poses and started a singing career for her. Great. Now I had to see and hear her on TV now. =(

When her singing career tanked, she turned to acting, which I've avoided for the most part so far, as her projects pretty much limited her to Britain.

I've only seen her act once so far, in The Calcium Kid, which I caught on HBO, thanks to tomatoe18's relentless fangirling over Orlando Bloom. Thankfully, she didn't have too much screen time, but I still can never bring myself to like her accent or voice.

I'd been wanting to watch Doctor Who, but cancelled those plans when I read that she joined the cast.

Billie Piper, I just can't see why or how you are special. So why are you just everywhere? =(

Oh, oh, oh! The Downey-fication of my LJ is complete, with the Robert Downey Jr. mood theme! Yay!

I have learned my lesson from my first and last attempt at making mood themes, and have just mooched it from someone else.

Still need: To look for a gown! The wedding's next week, and I don't have a gown yet! ...Yeah, I know, I can borrow my mom's, but I want my own!
Want: Beer. That doesn't have any calories
Super have to: Stalk RDJ in L.A. or anywhere in the US he may be while I'm there
A more reasonable vow: Check out the Ferrari showroom/souvenir store at Wynn Las Vegas.
Want, love: Money
Hate: Freeloaders
