We finally caught up on the last three episodes of BSG (Sine Qua Non, The Hub, Revelations) a few nights ago.
Okay, honestly, we were really tired when we watched these and I don't remember much of what happened except for MOM AND DAAAAAAAAAAAAD! Which was AWWWWWWWW and AWESOME and FLAIL!
sirrogue can attest that I made a squeaky noise at the end of The Hub. I just-- they are SO PERFECT. And it was exactly right. Exactly what I had always hoped for.
Then I went and read
Bear's blog entry for The Hub, and reading his comments about the music made me even more squeeful. I love, I *love*, that the end of The Hub is the happy part of the A/R theme that we only ever heard once, back during Resurrection Ship. (I have now been listening to that track from the S2 soundtrack on endless repeat.) Bear McCreary, I take my hat off to you, sir. I feel really bad now that I didn't go to your panel at SDCC.
Okay, and then I went and skimmed Jacob's TWOP recap (I didn't read the whole thing, because THIRTY-THREE PAGES, seriously? Are they paying him to write the novelizations or something?) but his description of Dad as "the bravest boy in the universe" cracked me up. In a good way. Just, mental image.
So, yeah, and a whole bunch of other stuff happened-- oh! When they arrived at Earth (but before they found out about the whole nuclear wasteland thing, oops) and everybody started whooping it up, I was giggling like mad, because-- CIC: More Parties Than Chuck-E-Cheese. I forget who coined that (
wisteria_?) but it hasn't happened much on the show lately so I was happy to see its reappearance. Although Lee, honey, you're not at a soccer match. Keep your jacket on.
Oh! Back at the beginning of the year, when they all went on David Letterman to do the top ten list in character and it was vaguely embarrassing for all concerned? And Six said "There's a good chance you'll see me naked" and Tigh said "There's a good chance you'll see me naked" and it was funny? WELL APPARENTLY NOT SO MUCH, EW. Although, way to not mention it again!
What else?
- YAY LUCY LAWLESS. Bitch gets stuff DONE.
- "You are not married to the entire production line." Oh, I laughed, I did.
- Speaking of, what was up with the dialogue in The Hub? Some of it was very good, and some of it was incredibly wooden (particularly the scene with BigDumbHelo and not-Athena where they came up with the attack-the-Hub plan). Jane Espenson, I'm happy and sad with you.
- Lee in the red shirt. YES.
- Kara is SO PRETTY. All the time. It's crazy!
