the new glasses woes!
i'm sitting here typing w/ my new glasses, the ones specifically for the computer & reading & work, and basically anything w/in an 8-foot radius of my person, and well, to say that my world is a little off-kilter and sorta wonky & wibbly is an UNDERSTATEMENT!
yeah, ok, the astigmatism portion of my regular progressive bifocals changed, so this one changed too (obviously), and in my regular progressives that i wear when i'm walking & whatever, and can wear to read, i was wobbly for a few hours, but this is NUTS!
if i tilt my head i can see better than if i look straight on, and that's just wrong!
then again, it is EXCRUTIATINGLY weird to no see as clearly in the distance with my glasses on than i do without them (i am farsighted to begin with, and that means i can see distances better than close-up w/o corrective lenses, it is just the astigmatism that forces the issue and makes it a lot easier to wear glasses for most applications)...
i really hope i can adjust, or that there is actually something wonky w/ the glasses, i'm gonna check w/ the optical (which is my eye doc's office too) tomorrow and make sure that everything is cut on the correct axis, cuz i'm thinking not...
either way, i'm now swapping back to my regular distance/close-up glasses, and will take a break form the computer/reading glasses, cuz i'm now getting nauseaus - and that is just in the time it took me to type this entry, and that isn't that long cuz i'm a rather quick typist (tho i had to do some backspacing cuz things weren't lining up right on the screen or at least didn't look to be)
ETA: the wonkier pair is also for work (cuz i can't read the SKU's on the labels at the top of displays & whatnot) and i'm not gonna be wearing them to work till i get this straightened out! i can't imagine how nauseated i'd be under flourescent lighting with them! OY!!!!!
