Not at all. Xanadu is always beautiful, whatever time of year. It's one of my favorite places in the city.

Kind of an ironic choice, don't you think? [ he said this when Riou was close enough to hear, apparently referring to the choice in meeting places. ]

[Riou quietly, if quickly, approached the meeting place after the get-together with his friends had finally disbanded. He was about to call out a greeting when Clow's question took him slightly by surprise]

[[ooc : I've been going back and forth for like... a year and a half now. I think it was my computer blowing up on me back in January that finally pushed me over the edge. And it's the same for me, the muse is definitely not dead, just the will to play him someplace like Poly. I'll miss you and lots of bits of Poly too! ;3;]]

Maybe it'll be that way with me, as well, because right now I don't want to drop him yet I was so certain last night. =_= See, this is why I wanted to wait at least a week. Either way, though, it'll take a long time to do this right and a lot of the changes that will need to happen are things that should probably happen anyway in order to avoid stagnation, you know?

Are you planning on playing Riou somewhere else, or no? I'm probably going to app Clow at toujourshotel regardless of whether or not I drop him here. ]

[And Riou gets it... slightly. Perhaps. His mind has been circling around such matters as letting go and moving on quite a bit recently, so it immediately latches on to this as he wanders up to Clow's side, glancing off into the trees surrounding them]

That's true... and they get to be called "ever" because of it. But their leaves aren't quite as large and fancy as the ones who die off and renew, are they?

Well, they have their own beauty and serve a specific purpose. [ looks down, briefly, then up at the trees as well. ] The individual leaves don't really last forever, either - it's only when observed very casually that the tree appears static.

Still, I wonder if pine trees enjoy the way they are or if they envy deciduous trees now and then?

It's kind of like the city in a way, isn't it? Instead of one large renewal, everyone falls away one by one making everything seem static.

I wonder... they shouldn't though. They're beautiful enough the way they are, right? Not everything needs to change like that.

There's much to be said for liking the way you are, but there are disadvantages to everything. Everyone wants what they can't have.

The grass is always greener... Well, one of the nice things about this place is that it can actually let you live the other side for a little bit.

[A half pause here, and he's still glancing off into the trees]
