Whoops... I had a feeling I missed something! I always screw up these polls...

I'll assume it's fairly normal to go home and return.

It is, but it's also pretty normal to be here for a long time before you make your way back. In fact, until the recent wish curse I'd been here over a year without making it home. Apparently I subconsciously blocked that from my mind or something when I created this thing...

It's something to look in to.

That state of the City more than two years ago? I'm hoping that there is someone who's been around longer than that, that I haven't come across yet...

I'd be interested to knowing more as well.

I've been poking around in the library for more information to no avail. I don't really know how else to go about finding it... somehow I doubt the deities will just answer politely if we ask.

I never thought about that... what the City was like before arriving.

It's come up quite a bit recently with some of the people I've been talking to... I suppose in connection to the renewed interest in the clock and such. My priority is still finding a way out, but maybe there's some sort of connection...

Everyone I met when I first got here - they've all left. What sort of connection are you thinking of? The frequency of returns and the reasons they leave and come back?

Some of the people who were here when I arrived are still here... but everyone else from my world back then has returned. Well, I usually do wonder about the frequency of returns and reasons for coming and going, but this time I was wondering... if something might not have happened two years ago that freed everyone at once? If that couldn't be somehow repeated...

I suppose just about anything is possible.

...There are books like that in the library? You found a book about yourself?

In this place? It certainly seems like it!

. . . . yeah, something like that. I had a particularly special time in the library recently.

Did you now?

Yeah.... I'm afraid I probably shouldn't go to the library with a group of people. But at least I didn't find books on lint this time?

It might be worth asking if anyone dead has disappeared and come back, as well.

(Also, does two months count as 'a few weeks' or 'a few months'?)

... You can find books about yourself there?

Oh, I know that to be true. I've seen it myself multiple times. The same dead person with the same memories or the person with different memories.

(I'd say to goes under a few months? Since it's more than a month and six months + has its own category.)

Yeah, apparently so. To some degree... actually, now that I think on it further some friends from my homeworld did seem to find something like that last year...

Ah, really? Last time we spoke on the subject you weren't sure whether or not they were getting eaten by the City.

(Aha. Well... too late, as my answers seem to have gone through even though I didn't answer the second question. I always think of 'a few' as being three or more, so that was what I put. Sorry!)

Oh? Now I'm curious... although, I'm not sure whether or not I really want to know if I'm fictional in another universe.

Oh! I meant I wasn't sure where they went when they disappeared and came back. They don't really seem to have any memories of the interim or it's really vague... I personally think they must be going back to their world's afterlife, but there is always the chance that the city is absorbing them during that time...

(That's all right, I botched up the survey myself when I didn't include 'none' as an answer for times people have left the city. But the main point still seems to stand... no one has claimed to be here for more than two and a half years.)

Actually, it was like a history book from our world... some of my friends back there are rather famous. But I know we're in a game in other worlds... the game is in the arcade here.
