In the recent past someone I know said Grant wasn't going to go to college. This really caught me off guard and reminded me of the battles with public schools when I was young for support (yes, I have a learning disability). After being told that LD students don't go to college I went to college and got a Master degree.
A learning disability does not mean a person isn't smart or capable of advanced work. It only means they experience the world differently and need different accommodations then the average person. Often the accommodations they need for grade school are things that are no longer demanded of then as adults (like sitting cross legged on the floor).
