One year and going strong!
This week marks one year since NP moved in with me and D/M. That doesn't count the month that NP just never went home...this is the official one year anniversary :).
This past year has worked fabulously. Some of you may remember that when D/M and I moved in together, 5 or so years ago, it was only after a great deal of discussion and angst. Having a roomate after he had lived alone for so long was not an easy transition for him and living with a partner was a first for him. I even kept my old apartment for a few months to make him feel better:). So, when we decided to have NP move in with us, I had some worries about how hard it would be on D/M. It has gone really, well. It has gone better than I could ever have hoped.
It started out good and once I let go and stopped trying to be the go-between-communicator between the two of them it went even better. We all love each other and are all committed to making life decisions together, that will work for all three of us.
Not only do I love each of them but I love us as a triad. I love eating dinner together, watching tv together, making holiday plans together, planning for the future together, the way we tease and sometimes bicker with each other. I love knowing that they are both there, that I will sleep in one of my beds and have them with me, there is so much to be thankful for when it comes to the three of us.
