Due date

Jul 11, 2011 21:13

Today is Michele's due date. As she put it, "They shouldn't give you a due date if it doesn't mean anything. They should give a date that guarantees you will have your baby.... basically an eviction notice with no appeals."

I carry my mobile phone with me everywhere, waiting for the call where she or Erick says, "It's now! We're having a baby!"

She calls me everyday just to chat. Since we use Rebtel she calls and I answer by saying "Call you right back." Then I hang up while she holds the line and I call her back and we talk for free as long as we want.

So every time she calls I answer and say "Call you right back" and then wait a moment to see if she says, in her normal voice, "Okay!" or if maybe it's Erick on the other end (who has been duly instructed in how to use Rebtel - to just hold the phone and wait for me to come back for the free call).

I agree with Michele - DUE DATE should mean something.

Come on, Tristan. You're about to be overdue. Late. Post-something. Let's not make a habit of this.
