I have, my entire adult life, identified myself as a "coffee person".
I pretty much drink hot tea only when I'm sick.
Morning drink: coffee. Breaktime? Coffee. Given a choice on an airplane or train? Give me coffee please.
The coffee "over here" is not so much to my liking. It's usually too strong and it's rare that I take a sip and REALLY enjoy it the way I used to. But for some reason I have not considered rearranging my view of myself until just this week.
I've been noticing lately in all of the meetings I've been attending that I linger near the people who are making themselves a nice cup of tea. It smells so delicious! And I notice that they are all so skinny, those tea-drinking people. Not that coffee is fattening, but what IS it with tea-drinkers and their willowy little ballerina bodies??
By sheer coincidence I ran out of coffee here at home this week. Freud claimed that there were no coincidences, but I'm not really into Freud so we'll ignore him.
I am not going to buy coffee for awhile. I am going to try life as a *gulp* tea person.
This is, of course, in the larger scheme of things, no big deal. But honestly, Dear Reader, it feels huge!
How about you? Do you identify yourself as one-or-the-other? Could you imagine just switching to the other team?
