It's almost eerie. I have not had a 100% successful kitchen experience one single time in my whole adult life ( Read more... )

You could probably think of creative ways to say I love you with frosting, at least :D

When I was a kid, I became afraid of kitchen experimentation, because no matter how awful it was, giving it to the chickens and having pizza was not an option. The only time we ever actually threw out something that turned out badly was when mom put triple the baking powder in the biscuits and they looked like hockey pucks and tasted like antiperspirant. (Even the dog wouldn't eat them.)

When something I cook doesn't turn out now, we throw it out and have something else. Sometimes we just go out. It makes me feel a lot better about trying something new when I know that if it sucks, we'll just eat something else.

It is very nice to have a partner who counts only the sunny hours, culinarily speaking.

My former step-'mother' has an ex who was the same way from the stories she told. Why she didn't hit him upside the head is beyond me. I don't know of anyone who is perfect in the kitchen or anywhere else.

On the plus side, you have a man who is willing to do the cooking, and he's good at it. Plus he's not a creep. :)

I love panang! I just tried it for the first time not too long ago and I love it! I'm a decent cook but I still manage to mess things up sometimes. And I'm not good at getting everything done at one time! That's hard to do!

I do hope you tipped a bowl of cake-mix over your ex's head as you left him.

Bjorn sounds wonderful!
