In a shameless bout of self-promotion,
Gapers Block published a story I wrote about... get this... women's reproductive rights! Brie_nne holding forth on what she believes ails the American female - quelle suprise!
So if you can deal with my largely mirthless sense of injustice - and really, if you read my blog with any consistency, you can - check it out.
Inhospitable Environment - Emergency Contraception and the City [Gapers Block]
So, did my self-deprication cover how excited I am? Awesome.
Fun fact:
The title was suggested by Jeremy as a reference to nearly everyone's favorite story about me. When I was twenty, I became convinced that I had been impregnated after a trip to Italy with my boyfriend at the time. In a shower in Ireland, I attempted to convince my possible embryo that my body was a bad place to set up shop by pounding on my abdomen, saying "Inhospitable environment!" as I punched. Turns out, I'd just gotten a bit fat after eating pasta for ten days! So thanks to Jeremy for the suggestion, and thanks to Roland for not knocking me up! Final thanks to Gapers Block for allowing me to inflict my opinions on a wider audience.
