Snow Angel had to admit that baking really made her feel better. Despite the fact that her mother, Lavender Sugar, was better at it than she herself would ever be (likely thanks to being a unicorn), the scents of ginger and cinnamon and other spices just had a way of lifting her mood. It was something that most parts of being a weather pony really

She trotted further into the kitchen and flicked on the light, giving a small exclamation. "But she left some cupcakes! Let me see what else is in the cold box, we might as well actually eat instead of just glutting ourselves on baked goods."
As delicious as those baked goods might be. Snow turned to yank off the baskets from her back, setting them on a hook near the kitchen door, and pawing open the aforementioned cold box.
"Hmm. Carrot salad--that's pretty good. Sprouts. Looks like Dad left some oatcakes for the rest of us--shock, he usually hogs those for his lunch. Apples, of course. Anything sound good? Or does it all?" she asked with a laugh, pulling a jug of what had to be apple cider out, and hauling it over to the counter.
"We've got hay and some other dry stuff too, if that's more interesting. I'm going to warm this up, give you a chance to decide. Later on I'll show you to the guest room."
A slight grimace passed over Snow Angel's face, but that was only because she wasn't sure how clean it was. "I'll have to check that," she said, absently.

Pushing, prodding, and scooping, she managed to get two platters of carrot salad, sprouts, and an apple a piece on to the table. The apple cider took a bit longer, what with having to be careful with the warmer, but two bowls also took their places, eventually.
"Go ahead and dig in!"

"I'm glad you like it. You know you can have seconds if you want?" Too often, her mother just...made so much food for catering, there always seemed to be leftovers. That was where the carrot salad had come from, after all.
"There's more cider too, if you want it!" Even Snow Angel ate pretty heartily, but considering her other job took a lot of physical activity, it probably wasn't too surprising.

Snow Angel tossed her mane again and grinned, carefully refilling the bowl with more steaming cider.
"So...should I ask where you are from, then?"

"I'll be back in a few moments, I'm going to check the guest room and see what sort of shape it's in, all right? It hasn't been used for a while, so..."
With that, Snow Angel trotted out of the kitchen.

"How do you do it, Mother? So organized every other place, and yet here--oof!"
What the stallion would see when he peeked around the door was Snow Angel, shoving a basket of decorations into a closet with her hind legs. It was resisting. The rest of the room had been tidied up pretty well, though it was spartan. A bookshelf on one side with a few volumes, and a bed with a blue blanket on it completed the room.
"Sorry it's not much, but we don't have visitors often. Mother shoves her clutter in here," Snow sighed.

"So are you tired? Because I could yap at you for hours more, but if you are I'll let you be to get some rest. Make sure my parents are quiet coming back and everything."
She nuzzled his cheek briefly, before stepping away, wings fluttering. "Thank you for helping me with that basket. Sometimes I wonder what possesses my mother, with her pack rat tendencies."

Looking thoughtful for a moment, she frowned. "You know, on second thought, I don't think I blame you. Dad can be loud if he gets flustered for any reason. Might as well not try for it, I guess. So um."
It took a bit more thought. "How about you ask me some stuff?
