They were just hiding their wings, obviously. Can't go showing them to just anyone. *sage nod*

I have returned! For more or less good this time, since I highly doubt we're taking more trips this summer until Cinna and I go back to college.

(Even if I... did in fact have internet. Turns out they set up a network up there and left the password available.)

Spending time up with my grandmother was great as usual. The weather was beautiful, better than it usually is (except last night, when it rained, but). And there were rabbits everywhere! You're usually lucky to catch a glimpse of a wild rabbit once or twice a year in the spring, but there were like four of them living in my grandmother's yard, and they would just sit there and didn't move! The car drives past? They're just sitting there, chilled out, not giving a crap, not moving. And there were a couple at the house we were staying at, too, this morning.

This is, of course, a great thing, in my opinion. But then, I'm only slightly a fan of rabbits, which I'm sure no one could tell.

The puppy was even on good behavior! ...Well, good for him, anyway. Yes, he was still on my lap off my lap in the car, but not anywhere near as much as last year, and he even settled down for a good stretch at a time when we were actually moving and not stuck in traffic. And he was a very good boy when we were actually there, even if he was a bit sick the first night. Sure, he barked his head off whenever we left him alone, but that's because he's not used to a strange place like that still.

Seeing the great-aunts and great-uncles is always good, and this year was no less interesting than usual, from Cinna and Kira correcting great-uncle T on his Japanese pronunciation to listening in a little on the conversation Dad and great-uncle C had about wine. Also got to meet... let's see if I remember right. My grandfather on that side had a nephew (I think?) who's been married three times, and his second wife had a daughter from before their marriage, and we got to meet said daughter, her husband, and their three year old daughter. Really really cute kid, really bright, though she was a little overwhelming. Or maybe my sisters and I just aren't that great with little kids. ^^;;

Of course, I got sick last night. We (with great-aunt S and great-uncle C) went to this restaurant that used to be a place that we really liked but which recently re-opened under a new name, and my grandmother liked the place. Seafood place, in my opinion trying a little too hard to be fancy but whatever. After a mix-up with the orders (four out of eight plates were delivered to the wrong people, and by the time I managed to catch the waitress' attention Dad had already eaten half of the plate meant for me), they got me a new plate of salmon, but it was not cooked all the way because they rushed it (which frankly, you don't rush cook seafood, you just don't), and me not wanting to cause trouble, I ate it anyway. Ended up hurling it all up later. But no ill effects today, so it's not food poisoning. It's just that my stomach and the undercooked fish had a disagreement, and when that kind of disagreement happens, the stomach tends to win out in the end.

Oh well. I won't be recommending the place, but it has potential if they fix a few things and work on training their waiters to ask "who ordered the tuna".

But yeah, I'm home. ^^
